Museums
Two of the area's most popular attractions are the homes of these
famous next-door neighbours, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. You can
tour Edison's botanical gardens, his laboratory and the museum with
the world's largest collection of Edison's inventions and memorabilia.
The Ringling Museum is the legacy of John Ringling (1866-1936)
and his wife, Mable (1875-1929). John Ringling bequeathed this Museum
of Art and its collection, Cà d’Zan mansion, the historic
grounds and gardens on 66 acres overlooking Sarasota Bay, to the
people of Florida.
Alongside Dalí's own museum in Spain, the St. Petersburg
collection is the most comprehensive collection of original Dalí
artwork in the world.
